SALEM, WV - Junior Tori Butler (Hedgesville, West Virginia / Musselman) from the Salem International University softball team has been named the Female Student-Athlete of the Week for March 19-26, 2017.
Butler batted .333 in four games for SIU last week, going 3-for-9 with three doubles and three runs batted in. She also recorded a .667 slugging percentage for the Tigers.
She went 1-for-2 at the plate with a bases-clearing double in game one of a doubleheader against Seton Hill on Saturday afternoon (Mar. 25). Butler also recorded a walk and a sacrifice bunt in the contest.
In her last 11 games, she is batting .375 (12-for-32) with three doubles, one home run, seven RBIs, and a .563 slugging percentage.
Butler is hitting .286 on the season for SIU with 18 hits in 63 at-bats. She has driven in 12 runs for the Tigers, while scoring 15 runs. Seven of her 18 hits have gone for extra bases (four doubles, two triples, one home run).
The Tigers had their home doubleheader against Davis & Elkins College postponed on Tuesday afternoon (Mar. 28) due to weather. SIU is scheduled to play West Liberty University on Thursday afternoon (Mar. 30) beginning at 2 p.m.
