SALEM, WV - Junior Zach Mullinax (Kannapolis, North Carolina / A.L. Brown) from the Salem International University baseball team has been named the Male Student-Athlete of the Week for February 20-27, 2017.

Mullinax went 5-for-10 in four games this past weekend for the Tigers. He recorded a pair of doubles and drove in two runs. Mullinax also scored four runs for SIU, who earned its first win of the season against Clark Atlanta University on Friday afternoon (Feb. 24).

He also worked a trio of walks at the plate and recorded a .667 on base percentage. He leads the team with a .317 batting average and has stolen 3-of-4 bases this season. Mullinax has scored eight runs for the Tigers and worked nine walks.

The Tigers head to St. Augustine's University for a four-game series this weekend in Raleigh, North Carolina. SIU will play at 1 & 3 p.m. both days against the Falcons.
