SALEM, WV - Senior Matt Flores (King City, California / King City) from the Salem International University baseball team has been named the Male Student-Athlete of the Week for February 13-20, 2017.

Flores hit his first home run of the season against Armstrong State University on Sunday afternoon (Feb. 19) in the second game of a doubleheader against the Pirates. He finished the game 1-for-3 with two runs batted in.

He went 2-for-4 with a double and a pair of RBIs in the opening game of the series, while scoring one run. Flores worked three walks and recorded a stolen base between the second and third game of the series.

The Tigers head to Atlanta, Georgia this weekend for four games. SIU will face Clark Atlanta University on Friday afternoon (Feb. 24) at 2 & 4 p.m. and Fairmont State University on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 25) at 12 & 2 p.m.
