SALEM, WV - Sophomore Keishla Gilmore (Philadelphia, Pa / Mariana Bracetti) from the Salem International University women's basketball team has been named the Female Student-Athlete of the Week for February 1-6, 2017.
Gilmore paced the Tigers by scoring 32 points on 11-of-22 shooting in a 106-91 loss to Rio Grande (Ohio) at home last Wednesday (Feb. 1). Gilmore went 8-of-11 at the free-throw line and recorded a team-high seven assists.
On Monday night (Feb. 6), at home against Davis & Elkins, she scored 13 points and again tallied seven assists while recording one block and one steal for the Tigers.
So far this season, she is averaging 11.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.2 steals per game for SIU. She has appeared in 20 games for the Tigers and is averaging 27.8 minutes per game.
