SALEM, WV - Junior Saquan Epps (Upper Marlboro, MD / Frederick Douglass) from the Salem International University men's basketball team has been named the Male Student-Athlete of the Week for February 1-6, 2017.
Epps recorded his third double-double of the season at home against Chowan on Feb. 1, scoring 16 points and adding 11 rebounds. He finished 6-of-9 from the free-throw line and 2-of-3 from downtown.
Against Bluefield State this past Saturday (Feb. 4), he tallied 11 points for the Tigers and went 3-of-3 from three-point range. He also pulled-down five boards and added two assists.
He has appeared in 19 games this season for SIU, posting 10.5 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. His 101 rebounds lead the Tigers.
