SALEM, WV - Senior Franchessca Gill (Chicago, Ill. / St. Francis de Sales) from the Salem International University women's basketball team has been named the Female Student-Athlete of the Week for January 23 through February 1, 2017.
Gill scored seven points on the road against Alderson Broaddus University on Wednesday night (Jan. 25). She also added one assist, one block, and one steal. Gill went 3-of-8 from the floor and 1-of-3 from downtown.
At home on Wednesday evening (Feb. 1) against Rio Grande (Ohio), Gill tallied 10 points for the Tigers and went 2-of-4 from three-point range. She finished the contest 4-of-8 from the floor with two assists and two steals.
The senior is averaging 17.9 minutes of playing time this season, scoring 5.5 points per contest. The 10-point performance for Gill against Rio tied a season-high that she accomplished on two separate occasions earlier in the season.
