SALEM, WV - Freshman Jarius Farrow (LaGrange, Georgia / Troup) from the Salem International University men's basketball team has been named the Male Student-Athlete of the Week for January 16-23, 2017.
In a pair of games last week, Farrow averaged 11.5 points per contest and shot 73 percent from the free-throw line. This season he is averaging 10.4 points and 3.3 rebounds per contest with 16 steals and nine blocks.
At home against Nyack College on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 21), Farrow scored a team-high 16 points with a 7-for-10 effort at the free-throw line. He also recorded four rebounds, one block, and three steals.
The Tigers head to Philippi, West Virginia on Wednesday night (Jan. 25) to face Alderson Broaddus University. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. and it will be the second meeting this season between the two teams. The Battlers were victorious earlier this season in Salem, picking-up an 86-72 win.
