SALEM, WV - Senior Dominique Robinson (Waldorf, Maryland / St. Mary's Ryken) from the Salem International University men's basketball squad has been named the Male Student-Athlete of the Week for January 2-9, 2017.
Robinson scored a season-high 17 points for the Tigers at home against Bluefield State on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 7). He went 7-of-15 from the floor and added eight rebounds for SIU.
Earlier in the week, he scored 13 points against Ferris State and went 8-of-11 from the free throw line. He also scored five points and added five rebounds and one block against Alderson Broaddus on Thursday night (Jan. 5).
He has appeared in 14 games this season for SIU, starting eight and each of the last five. Robinson is averaging 6.2 points per game, 3.1 rebounds per game, and 17.4 minutes per game. He has connected on 37.6 percent of his shots from the floor and 56.8 percent of his free throw attempts.
