Alex Stern

Coach Alex Stern, a native of Tampa, FL, starts his first year as the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Salem University after previously spending the past three seasons as the Associate Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Trinity College of Florida. Coach Stern spent one season as the men’s assistant basketball coach at Trinity College where he helped lead the team to the NCCAA National Championship game during the 2014-2015 season before switching over and becoming the Associate Head Women’s Basketball Coach and aiding the launching of a brand new Women’s Basketball Program at Trinity College.
 
In the two years with the Women’s basketball program, Coach Stern helped the team go from a 1 win season in their first ever year with a team to winning 12 games in their second season and earning the #2 seed in their NCCAA tournament in 2016-2017 season.
 
Just as Coach Stern was getting underway in his third season with the Women’s team, he assisted in landing a record setting 17 players on the roster for the 2017-2018 season before taking the job at Assistant Coaching job Salem University. 
 
Coach Stern bring experience in recruiting, player development with guards as well as post players, game planning, scouting, scheduling, and on-floor coaching.
 
Outside of Coaching at the College level, Coach Stern bring experience coaching AAU girls Basketball where for the past two years he was coaching a High School AAU Girls Team called the Pasco Wildcats based out of New Port Richey, FL. One of the greatest accomplishments was this past season winning the Championship in the Bracket play they were in at the USF Team Camp. He also coached Semi Pro Women’s Basketball for the Tampa X-Factor and has Coached Semi-Pro Men’s Basketball for the Tampa Bay Saints. Coach Stern has not only trained many high school basketball players who play Varsity Basketball, but has also trained college and professional players who he has helped land in Colleges across the U.S. as well as players overseas to play professional such as in Mexico, Sweden, and Peru.
 
Coach Stern graduated from the University of South Florida in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science and is working on his Master’s degree from Saint Leo University in Business.
