Dwain Blagg attended Salem College from 1958-1962 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree and received a Masters of Arts degree from Salem College in 1980. He was awarded a scholarship to play basketball, baseball, and tennis at Salem College in 1958 after graduating from Salem High School where he was a two-time selection for 1st Team All-Conference in Baseball and Basketball in 1957 and 1958.

Blagg was a four-year letterman in Basketball and Baseball from 1958-1962. His collegiate career was highlighted by a West Virginia intercollegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Championship in 1962. He was also the Co-Captain of the 1962 men’s basketball squad that finished 2rd in the WVIAC Tournament.

After graduation, Dwaine went on to coach Salem Jr. High School boys basketball from 1962-1967 and Salem High School boys basketball and baseball from 1967-1973. In his Salem High School coaching career, Blagg won two sectional tournaments in boy’s basketball and finished with an overall record of 86-42 in six years as a head coach.

Blagg was born December 1sth, 1939 in Webster Springs, West Virginia and is the son of Henry and Alice Blagg and younger brother of Jerry Blagg and sister of Cheryl Rogers. Blagg married Stephanie Wetzel on July 20th, 1968.
