Born April 11, 1937, Ron Burkhart graduated from Salem College in 1958 and was an exceptional three sport athlete. He excelled in football, basketball and baseball.
His athletic abilities earned him the distinction as a Williamson Little All-American, while being named to the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) All-Conference Team four times.
The Parkersburg, West Virginia native majored in physical education and was active in many social and service organizations on campus.
Upon graduation, he taught and coached in Cleveland, Ohio from 1962-67. Burkhart taught world history and coached football and track at Parkersburg High School. In 1967 he opened his own business and served as President of the American Businessmen’s Association.
Ron Burkhart died April 12, 1984.
