Alex Webb had 17 points and 10 rebounds as the Tigers decimated WVU-Parkersburg, 129-78, in Salem's final tuneup before the official start of the 2014-15 season.
Salem got off to a rocky start in the first 10 minutes of the contest. After the Riverhawks' Austin Cude drained a three-pointer with 11:51 on the clock to give WVU-P the lead, 19-18, Salem went on an 8-0 run highlighted by two three's from
Alex Webb that gave Salem the lead for the remained of the game.
WVU-Parkersburg's Jai Wright led all scorers with 27 points on 8-of-15 shooting, including 10-12 from the charity stripe. Austin Cude scored 13, while Tevin Dixon and Curl Dixon scored 11 apiece.
Newcomer
Gerard Tarin led Salem with 18 point via a 7-10 performance.
Tyler Bell and
David Atkinson scored 16 apiece, while
Jamal Robinson and
Kushan Hunter scored 15 apiece to round out the double-digit scoring for the Tigers.
