SALEM, W.Va - The Salem International University men's basketball team ran into a cold-shooting second half and dropped a close game to Davis & Elkins, 73-68, in Great Midwest Athletic Conference action on Saturday at the T. Edward Davis Gymnasium.

After the loss, Salem sits at just 1-9 on the year and 0-3 in the G-MAC. Davis & Elkins improved to 5-6 overall and 1-1 in the G-MAC.

The Tigers, who shot 44.44% from distance in the first half, built up a 16 points lead with 16:46 to play in the second half. However, Salem's shooters found out there was a lid on the bucket and the team was outscored the rest of the way by a 40-19 margin.

Alex Webb led all scorers with 21 points on 8-of-16 from the field. Abel Tillman netted 15 after having to sit out the first part of the season. David Atkinson finished with 11 and Tyler Bell had 10 points to round out the Salem scoring.

D&E was led by Wesley Sprinkle's 17 points. Kevin Bracy-Davis had 14, Juwan Strothers had 13, and Alex Vasiljevic had 12 points in the victory. Rickenjee Bellevue had a game-high 15 rebounds to go along with nine (9) points for the Senators.

Salem will take to the court on Monday to take on Alderson Broaddus. Tip-off is set for approximately 7:30 PM at the T. Edward Davis Gymnasium and can be viewed LIVE via the SIU Stretch Internet Portal HERE.
