WATERBURY, Conn. (Nov. 15) – The Tiger season came to an end with a 2-0 loss at Post University in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship match Sunday at LeMoy Field.
The loss ends the Salem International University men's soccer team's season at 10-9-1 overall following a second-straight appearance in the title match. Meanwhile, the Eagles defend their ECAC crown and improve to 13-6-1 this season.
The Tigers got off to a rough start early when Post scored in the fourth minute of the match to take the early lead. Despite the early setback, the Tigers went on to out-shoot Post 13-4 in the opening period, including a scoring opportunity in the 30th minute. Junior
Samir Amzil (France) got behind the Eagle defense and attempt a close shot, but the Post goalkeeper turned the ball away to keep the Tigers off of the scoreboard.
The second half was controlled by the Eagles, as Salem International managed five shot attempts, with only one on goal. Post added an insurance goal in the 73rd minute to seal the victory and a second-straight ECAC title.

Elliot Cook (Nottingham, England/South Nottinghamshire Academy) concluded his collegiate career with four saves in the loss. Senior
Javier Ruiz (Mexico City, Mexico/Universidad del Valle de Mexico), the team's leading scorer, attempted five shots in the loss with two on goal. He ends his Salem International career with 18 goals and 10 assists.
The Tigers posted consecutive 10-win seasons for the first-time in recent program history.
