FINDLAY, Ohio (Nov. 21) – The Tigers were defeated 85-48 at Findlay in non-conference play Saturday afternoon at the Kroy Gymnasium.
The Salem International University women's basketball team drops to 0-3 overall, while the Oilers improve to 3-0 this season.
Three Tigers finished in double-figures, led by redshirt-freshman
Keishla Gilmore (Philadelphia, Pa./Mariana Bracetti) with 15 points in the loss. Sophomore
Toi Brown (Detroit, Mich./Melvindale)and senior
Samantha Aiken (Hilton Head Island, S.C./Hilton Head) each tallied double-digit points with 13 and 11, respectively.
Findlay raced out to a 56-29 lead at the half behind 52 percent shooting (19 of 33) from the field. Salem International held the Oilers to 29 second half points, but the Tigers could not mount a comeback. Despite shooting 45 percent in the first half (11 of 24), Salem International was limited to 25 percent (7 of 27) from the field in the second half.
The Tigers are back on the road on Tuesday, Nov. 24 when they take on Pitt-Johnstown at 5:30 p.m.
