EVANSDALE, Ind. (Dec. 8) – The Tigers suffered an 87-55 loss at Southern Indiana in non-conference play Tuesday evening.
The loss drops the Salem International women's basketball team to 0-8 this season, while the Screaming Eagles improve to 7-1 overall.

Keishla Gilmore (Philadelphia, Pa./Mariana Bracetti) each tallied 11 points in the loss to lead the Tigers.
After a scoreless opening minute for both teams, Salem International took a 3-0 lead on an Aiken three-pointer, but Southern Indiana scored the next eight points to take an 8-3 lead with 5:38 remaining in the first quarter.
The Tigers responded with a quick 6-2 spurt to cut the deficit to one, 10-9, with 3:56 left in the opening period, but the Eagles out-scored Salem International 11-5 to end the first quarter with a 21-14 advantage.
Southern Indiana assumed control of the game in the second quarter, opening up a 44-25 lead heading into halftime. The Eagles maintained at least a 20 point advantage for the remainder of the game to earn the win over the Tigers.
The Screaming Eagles held a 44-24 edge on the glass and were credited with 28 assists, compared to seven for Salem International.
The Tigers return to action on Friday, Dec. 11 when they host Rio Grande in the third game of the Joe Manchin Classic at 5 p.m.
