The loss eliminates the Tigers from the G-MAC Tournament and concludes the season at 9-41 overall. Meanwhile, the Battlers improve to 32-15 overall and will play Cedarville in an elimination game tomorrow afternoon.

Junior first baseman Anthony Bariso (Tarpon Springs, Fla./Tarpon Springs) and senior shortstop Manny Dominguez (Bronx, N.Y./Manhattan Center for Science and Mathematics) each tallied two hits to lead Salem International offensively. Junior catcher Rahul Badve (Mississauga, Ontario/Woodlands Secondary) and junior right fielder Hunter Williams (Gunter, Texas/Gunter) each chipped in a base hit apiece in the loss.

Junior pitcher Cam Hall (Fort Erie, Ontario/Lakeshore Catholic) fell to 3-5 on the season in the loss. He allowed 10 runs (six earned) on 12 hits with three strikeouts and three walks over 5.0 innings of work. Freshman Kevin Ortiz-Arroyo (Orlando, Fla./Cypress Creek) tossed a pair of scoreless innings in relief with two strikeouts to close out the game.

After a scoreless first inning, the Battlers touched up Hall for five runs (one earned) with the help of a pair of errors to take a 5-0 lead. Alderson Broaddus added to its lead in the third when catcher Dan Essian walked, stole second and scored on a Brandon Quay single to take a 6-0 advantage.

Alderson Broaddus threatened to add to its lead in the fourth after a lead-off triple by designated hitter Luke Shiflett, but two batters later Hall fielded a softly hit ball and caught Shiflett sneaking too far off third base to keep the Tiger deficit at six.

The Battlers put the game out of reach in the fifth inning with another four runs on four singles and a walk to build a 10-0 cushion.

In the sixth inning, the Tigers had their best opportunity to score after Dominguez and Badve each singled to put runners on first and second with one out. After the runners moved 90 feet on a fielder's choice, Alderson Broaddus pitcher Randy Dobnek ended the threat by striking out the next batter. Salem International went down in order in the seventh, securing a run-rule victory in seven innings for the Battlers.

Dobnek, a first-team all-conference honoree, improved to 7-4 this season after shutting out the Tigers and limiting the offense to six hits with eight strikeouts over 7.0 innings on the bump (102 pitches). Battler second baseman Deonte Settles led the offense with an impressive 5-for-5 performance at the plate.

Salem International finished with six conference wins, the most since entering the G-MAC, and loses only one regular starter to graduation this season.
