ELKINS, W.Va. (Jan. 12) – The Tigers fell to Davis & Elkins 87-65 Tuesday evening in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play.
The Salem International University women's basketball team (2-14, 0-4 G-MAC) were led by senior
Dorina Barrett, who posted a career-best 21 points, six rebounds and four assists in the loss.
The Tigers hung with the Senators (5-7, 1-1 G-MAC) early on, trailing 23-21 after one quarter, but Davis & Elkins built its lead to as many as 17 before the conclusion of the third period.
Sophomore
Toi Brown (Detroit, Mich./Melvindale) added 14 points and a team-high four steals, while redshirt-freshman
Keishla Gilmore (Philadelphia, Pa./Mariana Bracetti) and freshman
Imari Bowers (Detroit, Mich./Cass Tech) chipped in 13 and 12 points, respectively.
Salem International continues G-MAC play on Thursday, Jan. 21 when it hosts Alderson Broaddus at 5 p.m.
