Emilio Marti's game-tying goal in the 32nd minute of action, Salem International dropped a 2-1 decision to West Virginia Wesleyan College in the 94th minute on a goal by Matthew Bentley, Monday night (Oct. 31) in men's collegiate soccer action.
The Tigers conclude their 2016 season with a 4-10-2 record and wins against District of Columbia, Oakland City, Slippery Rock, and Seton Hill. SIU also played host to nationally ranked Charleston (WV) at Catalano Stadium this season, limiting the Golden Eagles to three goals.

The Bobcats would strike first as Conor Davies scored in the 21st minute after beating a pair of Salem defenders and shooting from just outside the top of the box.Â
After a pair of good stops from Wesleyan goalkeeper Alessandro Armenia, it would be the Tigers turn to get onto the scoreboard. In the 32nd minute, Marti would take a cross to the middle of the box from senior
Samir Amzil and find the left corner of the net to knot the game 1-1.Â
Salem outshot the Bobcats 5-4 in the first half and took all three of the corner kicks that were awarded.Â
Both teams would play a defensive-minded style in the second half with both goalkeepers making one save a piece. The Bobcats tried to turn things around offensively against the Tigers in the second half, taking a total of six shots and earning four corner kicks.
With the cool air swarming in, the Bobcats would send their fans home happy in the 94th minute as Bentley took a shoot from the top of the box through traffic that would just find its way in to give Wesleyan the 2-1 victory.Â
