WILBERFORCE, OH - For the second consecutive game Salem International started cold from the floor, dropping a 90-43 decision to Kentucky State University on Sunday afternoon (Nov. 13) at the Theresa A. Check Tip-off Classic in women's collegiate basketball action.
The Tigers (0-2) will head to Rio Grande, Ohio for the Bevo Francis Tournament, hosted by Rio Grande. The two-day event will take place on Friday, November 18 and Saturday, November 19.

Quamilla Jackson scored six points for the Tigers, including a 4-for-4 effort at the free throw line.
Kentucky State (2-0) quickly leaped out to a 24-8 lead after the opening 10 minutes of action on Sunday. The Thorobreds would add to their lead by dropping 33 points in the second quarter to widen their lead to 57-16. The Tigers scored eight points in each of the first two quarters of the contest.
The Thorobreds were 22-for-43 from the floor and 9-for-18 from three-point range in the first half, while SIU was 7-for-21 from the floor and 2-for-6 at the free throw line.
The Tigers would have a good start to the second-half of play, but the Thorobreds would outscore the Tigers 20-11 to up their lead to 77-27.
Just as they did against Central State on Saturday, the Tigers would outscore Kentucky State 16-13 in the fourth quarter. The Tigers connected on nine shots in the second half and went 8-for-12 from the charity stripe.
The Thorobreds were led by Brittani Rizzi's game-high 29 points and nine three-pointers, while teammate Brooklyn Sharpey added 10 points and 14 assists for Kentucky State. Daphene Brown (13) and Brooke Wallace (11) both finished with double-digits in points for the Thorobreds.
