PHILLIPI, W.Va. (Feb 2) – The Tigers were defeated 83-49 by Alderson Broaddus in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play Tuesday evening.
The loss sends the Salem International University men's basketball team to 3-16 overall, 0-6 in league play. Meanwhile, the Battlers remain paced at the top of the G-MAC with a 6-1 conference mark, 15-6 overall.
Eight different Tigers tallied points, led by sophomore
Saquan Epps (Upper Marlboro, Md./Frederick Douglass) and juniors
Conrad Etchi (Burtonsville, Md./James H. Blake) and
Parris Purcelle (Greenburgh, N.Y./Irvington) who each finished with eight points apiece.
The Tigers, who shot 14 of 39 (40 percent) from beyond the arc in their previous meeting with Alderson Broaddus, finished just 4-of-28 from long range (14 percent) in the loss Tuesday night.
Salem International has a quick turnaround and is back in action on Thursday, Feb. 4 when it hosts Davis & Elkins. The game, which is a make-up date from Jan. 23, will tip around 7:30 p.m.
