RIO GRANDE, OH - The Salem International University women's basketball team will look to get back into the win column tonight as the Tigers head to Rio Grande, Ohio to face the University of Rio Grande tonight at 6 p.m. This will be the second meeting this season between the two schools after the RedStorm were victorious 97-69 back on Nov. 18, 2016.
Sophomore
Jiahna Flood-Francis scored a game-high 24 points for the Tigers, while fellow sophomore
Keishla Gilmore scored 13 points for SIU. The effort from the sophomore duo wouldn't be enough as six Rio Grande players tallied double-digit performances, led by Alexis Payne's 14 points.
Flood-Francis leads the Tigers offensive attack this season, averaging 12.6 points per contest. She also has recorded a team-best 27 steals to go along with 26 assists and 45 rebounds. Flood-Francis is shooting 41.8 percent (71-of-170) from the floor this season and 41.1 percent (23-of-56) from three-point range.
Gilmore ranks second on the squad, averaging 10.5 points per game this season with a team-best 43 assists and 4.2 rebounds per contest. Freshman
Quamilla Jackson is averaging 5.9 points per contest for SIU with five blocks, 3.5 rebounds per game, and shooting 40.2 percent from the floor.
