SALEM, WV - The Salem International University women's basketball team will play host to the Malone University Pioneers on Tuesday night (Feb. 14) inside T. Edward Davis Gymnasium. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. with a special pre-game ceremony to honor the 2016-17 senior class beginning at 5:20 p.m.

The Tigers will honor seniors
Karla Hall (Richmond, Calif. / Laguna Creek),
Dorina Barrett (Detroit, Mich. / Pershing), and
Franchessca Gill (Chicago, Ill. / St. Francis de Sales). SIU will then hit the road for a trio of games against Kentucky Wesleyan (Feb. 20), Cedarville University (Feb. 23), and Bluefield State (Feb. 26).
SIU comes into the contest against Malone having played arguably two of their most competitive games this season against Rio Grande (Ohio) and Davis & Elkins. The Tigers held several leads in both contests while making late surges both times.
Sophomore
Jiahna Flood-Francis continues to lead the way for SIU, starting in each of the Tigers' 22 games this season. Flood-Francis is averaging 13.5 points per contest this season and has recorded a team-high 51 steals. Fellow sophomore
Keishla Gilmore is second on the team in scoring at 11 points per game this season and has helped her teammates by recording a team-high 67 assists.
The Tigers will look to the success of their three-point shooting on Tuesday night against the Pioneers as SIU has made at-least seven treys in a contest on seven different occasions. SIU tied its season-high of made threes in a game (12) at home against Rio Grande on February 1, 2017 in a 106-91 loss. The other game in which SIU made 12 threes in a game was at home on December 9, 2016 against Bluefield State (81-57), the Tigers' first win of the season.
