BUCKHANNON, WV - The Salem International Tigers were limited to two hits against twelfth-ranked West Virginia Wesleyan College on Tuesday afternoon (Apr. 18). The Bobcats plated five runs in the bottom of the third inning of game one en route to a 7-0 victory and followed by scoring five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning in game two to earn a 8-0 win.

Ariana Garcia and sophomore
Sam Perez recorded both of the Tigers' hits in game two against the Bobcats after being held without a hit in game one.
In game one, the Tigers had a chance to get onto the scoreboard in the top of the second inning as freshman
Sydney McPherson reached on an error by the first baseman to start the frame. Freshman
Rosey Romick then reached on an error by the shortstop to put a pair of runners on base. The inning would come to an end as sophomore
Jordan Whitaker lined out to the second base, who then flipped the ball to the shortstop to retire McPherson at second base.
The Bobcats would take control of the game in the bottom of the third inning against junior starter
Kayla Lynch. Wesleyan tallied three run-scoring singles in the frame to go along with a two-run home run to up its lead to 5-0.
Wesleyan capped the scoring in the bottom of the sixth inning with a double that plated a pair of runs to make it 7-0.
Lynch was handed with the loss after exiting the game with one out in the third inning. Romick worked the final 3.2 innings for SIU and allowed two runs on five hits. Hannah Vet tossed a complete game for the Bobcats, fanning eight batters and walking one.
In game two, the Bobcats plated three runs in the bottom of the first inning against junior starter
Katie Holestin and the Tigers. Garcia recorded SIU's first hit of the afternoon in the top of the second inning with a single to center field.
Perez would then lead-off the top of the third inning with a single to left field for the Tigers. The Bobcats killed the rally with a 1-6-3 double play.
The Tigers made a pitching change to start the bottom of the fifth inning as Lynch took-over for Holestin. The Bobcats wouldn't greet Lynch all that well as they scored five runs on four hits against her in the frame. Romick entered the game with no-outs, looking to get the Tigers out of the jam but Wesleyan would plate its eighth run of the game to complete the 8-0 victory.
Sayaka Foley tossed a complete game for the Bobcats in game two, surrendering a pair of hits and fanning six batters.
