Tigers Downed by Seton Hill on the Road

GREENSBURG, Pa.-The Salem University women's basketball team suffered a 105-83 loss to Seton Hill (Pa.), Monday night. 

The loss drops the Tigers to 0-7, while Seton Hill improves to 3-1 overall. 
 
Salem was outrebounded by Seton Hill 62-46, while Seton Hill shot 42.7 percent from the field to the Tigers 37.3 percent. 
 
The Tigers outscored the Griffins 48-36 in the paint, while Salem had more points off turnovers 18-16.
 
Junior Precious Price stuffed the stat line and led the Tigers with a game and season-high 27 points to go along with seven rebounds and five assists. 
 
Freshman Makayla Pickens netted 16 points, while classmate Daniela Quesada-Villalobos notched 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
 
The Tigers trailed the entire game, outscoring Seton Hill in the fourth quarter 26-25. 
 
Seton Hill started the contest off on a 16-6 run, as Pickens hit a layup at 2:48 in the first quarter to cut the lead to 16-8. 
 
The Tigers were unable to cut into the lead in the second quarter as Seton Hill stretched its largest lead of the first half to 27 at 3:13 in the second quarter leading 49-22. 
 
In the fourth quarter, Salem cut the Seton Hill lead to 19 points (98-79), after a layup by Price with 2:23 left in the game. 
 
Seton Hill was led by Megan Marecic who netted 24 points and had eight rebounds with two blocked shots. 
 
The Tigers are back in action Wednesday as they travel to Mansfield with a 5:30 p.m. start.
