FLORENCE, Ky. – The Salem University women's soccer team once again rolled to another dominant victory as they defeated Oakland City 9-0, Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the Tigers jump to 13-3-1, while Oakland City falls to 5-10.
The Tigers dominated the stat line as they notched 41 shots with 24 of them on goal, while Oakland City only garnered two shots with zero on goal.
The match heavily leaned one-sided, as Salem led 4-0 at the half and did not look back as they scored five more times in the second half.
Sophomore
Thuto Ramafifi continued her offensive explosion as she notched another hat-trick. It marks her fifth hat-trick of the season.
Ramafifi has produced an impressive 26 goals on the year, to go along with 11 assists. Ramafifi recorded a single-game season-high as she dished out four assists today.
Freshman
Paula Guba notched two goals in the match good for seven on the year, while junior
Sabina Morello and sophomore
Barbara Stenner each notched a goal.
Senior
Vanessa Moreno was awarded a penalty kick and she calmly stepped up and knocked it past the keeper for a goal.
Freshman
Anna-Lisa Tietz garnered her second goal of the season off an impressive chip shot over the keeper.
The Tigers led the nation this season in goals per game as they averaged 5.23 goals per game on the year.
Salem is now in postseason play, as they gear up for the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) tournament, set for the weekend of November 16th-18th.
