LEWISBURG, Pa. –The Salem University men's water polo team dropped two contests with a 14-11 loss to Washington and Jefferson and a 19-11 loss to the Naval Academy, Saturday.
Game One
In the first matchup, Salem fell 14-11 to Washington and Jefferson.
The Tigers were led by junior
Salvador Orozco who netted four goals, while junior
Milos Popovic, senior
Inigo Velasco, and freshman
Austin Kephart each scored two goals and sophomore
Petar Leontijevic notched one goal.
Game Two
In the nightcap, the Tigers suffered a 19-11 loss to Navy.
Salem bounced back with a solid performance and effort against Division I Navy.
The Tigers were led by Popovic who scored a team-high five goals.
Leontijevic added three goals in the match, while sophomore
Michael Rojas and sophomore
Uros Jevtic each notched two scores and Kephart generated one goal.
The Tigers kept the match close and were only trailing by two heading into the fourth period 11-9.
The men's water polo team is back in action tomorrow as they face Bucknell at 6:00 p.m. in the second day of the Bucknell Invitational.
