Box Score Salem University fell to Indiana University of Pennsylvania 8-0 in NCAA Division II women's soccer Sunday at Indiana, Pa. Tiger goalkeeper
Chelsea Cordice, who ranks second in the nation in saves, recorded nine saves.
Indiana scored three goals in the first 12 minutes, but Salem held the Crimson Hawks scoreless the remainder of the first half. Two of Indiana's second-half goals came off of rebounds on saves by Cordice.
Sophia Wortmann had Salem's first shot of the match in the 13th minute and nearly put the Tigers on the board in the 31st minute, but was denied by Indiana goalkeeper Maria Tunney. Tunney also recorded saves on second-half shots by
Tamara Queiroz and Rose Goddard.
Sunday's match was the Tigers' first contest in 11 days.
Salem is back at home Wednesday as the Tigers play host to Lincoln Memorial University. Match time is 2 p.m. at Catalano Stadium.
