Salem University fell to Davis and Elkins College 25-8, 25-14, 25-9 in NCAA Division II volleyball Tuesday at T. Edward Davis Gymnasium.
Yesenia Munoz led the Tigers with six kills and two blocks.

The Tigers dropped the first set and fell behind 7-0 in the second set before Munoz and
Anna Veryser sparked a rally. After a kill by
Makhia Hinton got Salem on the board, Munoz and Veryser each recorded a kill and combined on a block.

Munoz added a solo block to pull the Tigers within 11-8, but Davis and Elkins came back with three unanswered points. Salem never got closer than five points the remainder of the set.

Davis and Elkins built a double-digit lead in the third and the Tigers were unable to recover.

Kyana Cardenas recorded 11 assists for Salem, while
Lenka Jakovljevic led the Tigers defensively with eight digs.

Salem has Wednesday off and then plays its third home match in four days as the Tigers play host to Ohio Christian University. Match time is 7 p.m. for the Tigers' Halloween "Volley-Boo" match.
