Salem (0-4) is coming off an 82-61 loss Tuesday at Mercyhurst University. The Tigers led virtually the entire first half and were down by only three points when Mercyhurst broke the game open with a 26-5 run that started in the final minute of the third quarter.
Nerea Arambarri Fernandez and
Alicia Smith led Salem with 14 points apiece.

The Tigers were scheduled to play at Mercyhurst again Wednesday, but returned home early due to the forecast of a winter storm. A make-up date has not yet been announced.

Salem played at University of Delaware and Norfolk State University during Thanksgiving weekend for the Tigers' first regular season women's basketball games against Division I teams in more than 20 years.
Faith Williams led Salem with 13 points against Delaware and Fernandez followed with 21 points against Norfolk State.

Towson (3-1) defeated Longwood University 108-89 this past Saturday. The Tigers' lone defeat this season came against nationally 14th-ranked University of Maryland.

Friday's contest was added to the schedule at the beginning of the week. Salem will be idle during Christmas Break and will return to action after the first of the year.
