Salem University built a double-digit lead in the first quarter, but Seton Hill University rallied and pulled away in the second half to defeat the Tigers 90-71 in NCAA Division II women's basketball Tuesday at Greensburg, Pa.
Nia Bishop led all players with 23 points for the Tigers.

After Salem (6-15) spotted Seton Hill the first five points of the game, three-pointers by
Endia Jones and
Inari Jones helped put the Tigers on top 10-8. After
Precious Price added a three,
Endia Jones scored the final seven points of a 10-2 run to give Salem its biggest lead of the night at 22-12 with 1:48 left in the first quarter.

Seton Hill (13-10) closed the gap to 24-20 on Irena Enterline's transition layup at the buzzer. After a pair of three-pointers by Enterline put the Griffins back on top 29-27, the Tigers regained the lead on Bishop's three-pointer. Seton Hill answered with an 18-6 run as Tania Stewart hit a pair of three's to give the Griffins their biggest lead of the half at 48-36 with 2:11 remaining.

Endia Jones each hit a layup in the final two minutes as Salem pulled within 49-40 at halftime.

Stewart hit a three-pointer on Seton Hill's opening possession of the third quarter and the Griffins led by double figures the remainder of the contest. The margin grew to as many as 24 points in the fourth quarter before three-pointers by
Aaliyah Holmes,
Alicia Smith and Bishop pulled the Tigers within 82-67 with 4:43 left to play.

Endia Jones finished with 14 points and nine rebounds to come within one board of her second straight double-double. Smith added 10 points and seven rebounds for the Tigers. Bishop also recorded seven steals.

Lexi Civittolo led Seton Hill with 20 points, while two Griffins reached double figures in assists.

The start of the game was pushed back from 5:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. due to a delay in the arrival of the officiating grew. A two-person officiating crew worked much of the first quarter before the third official arrived.

Salem hits the road again Thursday as the Tigers travel to Vienna, W.Va., for a rematch with Ohio Valley University. The Tigers set school records with 21 three-pointers and a 40-point third quarter in a 103-64 victory over the Fighting Scots January 23 at T. Edward Davis Gymnasium. Tip-off is 6 p.m.
