One week after an impromptu home opener, Salem University has its first road series of 2020 as the Tigers travel to Bristol, Tenn., to take on King University in a three-game baseball series. The two teams play a doubleheader Saturday beginning at 11:30 a.m. and complete the series with a single game Sunday at noon.

Salem (0-2) dropped a doubleheader at Frank Loria Memorial Field this past Sunday against Wheeling University. The twinbill was arranged after both teams had their originally scheduled series canceled due to the weather.

Tyler D'Alessandro had a pair of doubles in game one for Salem and
Dominic Curole tripled and scored in the nightcap. Curole also took the mound in game two and allowed only one earned run on four hits in six innings, while striking out nine.
Brendan Case had seven strikeouts in five innings in the opener in his first start since 2018 after pitching out of the bullpen last season.

King (4-3) defeated Carson-Newman University 12-6 Tuesday after taking two-of-three from NAIA Lindsey Wilson College last weekend.

Salem heads to Frankfort, Ky., next weekend for a single game against Cedarville University and a three-game series against Kentucky State University.
