LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pennsylvania - After a difficult showing against Slippery Rock at home, Salem's volleyball hit the road aiming to get back on track as they squared off with the Lions of Lincoln University. The contest was well played, but Lincoln beat Salem 3 sets to none.Â
Across all three sets, Salem stayed toe to toe with Lincoln point by point. Lincoln would rally together a few points to take a slight lead, and Salem would claw their way back into it. This back and forth would carry on throughout the contest, but the Lions would find themselves on top in all three sets.
Despite the disappointing result, Salem did have some strong points to their game today. Makhia Hinton led the way for Salem with 8 kills and 2 digs. Anna Veryser had a resurgent day as well for the Tigers with 3 kills and 2 digs. Hope Eliasen had a strong game defensively with 9 digs.Â
While today's contest did not go the Salem way, they will continue a string of Pennsylvania-based road contests as they are scheduled to face Point Park on October 25th at 7 pm.
