VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia - After a historic women's soccer season after a nearly 3 year hiatus, Salem women's soccer team has been honored with 2 players named to the USCAA All-American team, and 3 players featured on the All-Academic team.
The first honoree for the Tigers is Oceane Deslaurier. She was named to the USCAA All-American first team, and a quick look at her play this season will show you why. Deslaurier has been a big offensive force for the Tigers this season. She tallied a team leading 5 goals, and punched in a big game winner early on in the season against King in Charleston.
The second Tiger USCAA All-American was Ana Caroline Lopes, who earned honorable mention status. She has been a leader in the midfield for Salem this season, and she also took home All-Academic status for her performance off the field as well.
The final two Tigers honored were defender Litzi Delarosa and midfielder Laura Santos. Both were featured in the USCAA All-Academic team for the prowess in the classroom this season.
These awards provide a final checkmark on a successful season for head coach Florin Marton's squad, which looks primed to make further improvements in the 2023 fall campaign.
