FROSTBURG, Maryland - After a road trip to the northern portions of the state last week, the Salem Tigers women's soccer team headed just outside the borders of the Mountain State to Maryland where they took on the Bobcats of Frostburg State. The Bobcats bested the Tigers earlier on in the season, but Salem was unable to overcome Frostburg State this go around either. They were overcome by a score of 10-0.
For the first half, Salem kept the game close initially with some strong defensive play. However, the Tigers fell victim to the same issue that has plagued them multiple times this season, namely a lack of offensive opportunities. It would be the Bobcats who carried a 7-0 lead into the intermission.Â
After the break, Salem's trademark defense tried to keep things close as the Tigers looked to battle back. The Tigers found some attacking play from Julia Munoz - Delgado and Ana Luiza Ferrante, but it was to not avail. The Bobcats pulled away with the 10-0 victory.Â
On the score sheet, Ana Luiza Ferrante led the Tigers with the lone shot on goal for Salem. Sarah Cabrera logged 13 saves on the day.Â
Salem will be back in action on October 25th at 5 PM when they are set to take on West Liberty at The Bridge Sports Complex in Bridgeport, West Virginia.
