BRIDGEPORT, West Virginia - After the women's contest against the Notre Dame College Falcons, Salem's men's soccer team had their shot to take on the Falcons at The Bridge Sports Complex. Salem played the Falcons tough and through rain soaked play throughout the game. However, it would be Notre Dame that came out on top 5-0.
In the first half, the Falcons struck early with 2 goals in the first 20 minutes. However, Salem kept the pressure on, and played a tight defensive game the rest of the way. Salem's defense held throughout the rest of the half, and the 2-0 scoreline favoring Notre Dame held into the intermission.
After the break, Salem came out with some energy in order to battle back into the game. However, as the game went on, the Falcons exploited the tiring legs of the Salem backline to add 3 more goals. From there, the Tigers gave everything they had into a comeback bid including a number of near misses from Mauricio Aguillar Renovales and Enzo Lira De La Paula. Despite the furious effort, Salem ended up falling to the Falcons 5-0.
