WHEELING, WV- The Salem Tigers traveled to take on the Wheeling Cardinals today in a regular season volleyball matchup. The tigers entered the match with a record of 3-8 and the Cardinals held a record of 7-5.

The opening set began close with Salem staying in the set keeping it close at 6-5. From there the Cardinals took over. They went on a 7-0 run to take a 13-5 lead. Wheeling remained in the drivers seat the rest of the set, cruising to a 25-11 victory.

As set number two got underway the Tigers looked to get back on top of things. The Cardinals had other plans. Wheeling opened on fire offensively, establishing a 13-5 lead. The Cardinals continued their dominance throughout the remainder of the set as they won this one 25-12.

The third set remained all Cardinals as they established another early lead at 12-3. Salem tried to get some momentum going, but the Cardinals were just too much tonight. They won set three 25-10 and claimed the win 3-0.

The Tigers are set to square off against the University of Cincinnati-Clermont Cougars at home tomorrow afternoon at 1pm.
