PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania – On Wednesday afternoon, the Salem Tigers women's soccer team headed up north to the Steel City. The Tigers would compete in their season finale against Point Park University at 5 PM. The Tigers were looking to end their season on a high note and pull off the upset in Pittsburgh. Unfortunately, Point Park was able to grab the lead early on and they didn't look back. Point Park defeated Salem 4-0.
In the first half, the Point Park Pioneers were able to go ahead early by striking first at the 8-minute mark. At the 16-minute mark, the Pioneers were able to get on the board to extend their lead to 2-0. Both teams were able to play good defense in the middle of the first half. Unfortunately, the Pioneers would score once more right before the half at the 43-minute mark.
In the second half, the Pioneers wasted no time scoring their 4
th goal of the game at the 48-minute mark. At this point in the contest, Point Park had complete control of the game. The rest of the game the Pioneers were able to control the ball and run the clock. Point Park ended up defeating Salem 4-0 in Pittsburgh on Wednesday evening.

Danaye Walters was able to get the one shot on goal for the Tigers.
Chloe Owens was able to take a shot as well.
Sarah Cabrera was able to gather 16 saves in the game.
While the season didn't go as planned, the Salem Tigers still have some bright spots to build on for next season. With majority of the roster being young they will have a chance to work hard this off-season and make some big improvements for the 2025 season.
