SALEM, W.Va. — The Salem University volleyball team dropped a straight-sets decision to Glenville State on Friday night inside T. Edward Davis Gymnasium, falling 25–13, 25–17, 25–17.
The Tigers (8-8) stayed close early in each set but couldn't overcome the Pioneers' efficient offensive attack. Salem totaled 29 kills on the night, led by Noemi Combi with eight, while Valentina Poti and Marika Righi each added six. Katie Kennedy dished out 19 assists and contributed defensively with a block and a pair of digs.
On the back row, Ana Julia Avila Vian led the Tigers with nine digs, and Poti added seven. Salem produced several strong rallies and tied Glenville State seven times throughout the evening but couldn't sustain momentum against the visitors' .281 team hitting percentage.
The Tigers return to the court on Saturday, October 18, when they host another home match against the Concord Mountian Lions at T. Edward Davis Gymnasium.
