Salem's Offensive Improvements Not Enough to Overcome Point Park

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Salem University men's basketball kept pace early but could not overcome Point Park's shooting efficiency, as the Tigers fell 101–89 Saturday afternoon at CCAC-Allegheny.

Salem stayed competitive in the opening half, trailing 48–40 at the break after shooting 42.9 percent from the floor. Zahki Fallen sparked the offense with strong drives to the basket, while Jamari Gamble provided scoring punch in transition as the Tigers worked to stay within striking distance.

Fallen led all Salem scorers with a game-high 33 points, going 10-for-21 from the field and 10-for-12 at the free-throw line. Gamble added 22 points on 9-of-17 shooting, and Eman Lawal chipped in 12 points and a team-high 10 rebounds to record a double-double. Xavier Price was efficient off the bench, scoring 12 points in just under 13 minutes.

Point Park extended its advantage in the second half behind hot perimeter shooting, connecting on 17 three-pointers for the game. The Pioneers shot 60.6 percent from the field in the second half and maintained control despite multiple Salem runs.

Salem showed resilience late, cutting the deficit to single digits several times behind aggressive defense and fast-break scoring. The Tigers finished with 23 fast-break points and 48 points in the paint, continuing to pressure the rim throughout the contest.

Point Park was led by Aidan Anderson's 30 points, while Grant Welch added 22 and Greg Williams scored 18. The Pioneers finished the game shooting 50.7 percent from the field and a perfect 10-for-10 at the free-throw line.

Salem moves to 6–11 on the season and will look to bounce back in its next conference matchup.
