PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Salem University women's basketball battled through two competitive quarters before Point Park pulled away in the second half, as the Tigers fell 71–42 Saturday afternoon at CCAC-Allegheny.
Salem stayed within striking distance early, trailing just 16–14 after the first quarter and 29–28 at halftime. The Tigers showed strong defensive effort and second-chance scoring in the opening half, using balanced contributions to keep the contest close.
Selena Frost led Salem with 11 points, knocking down three three-pointers, while Meilin Guo also scored 11 points on 5-of-12 shooting. Taja Brown added 11 points and pulled down four rebounds, and Kori Pillette anchored the glass with a team-high nine rebounds.

Despite the setback, the Tigers continued to compete through the final quarter, with Brown and Guo converting inside and the Salem defense forcing multiple turnovers. Salem finished with 40 rebounds and outscored Point Park in second-chance points, 14–5.
Point Park was led by Alexis Giles' game-high 16 points, while Lucia Hervia added 13 and Elizabeth Boyd contributed 10 points and eight rebounds.
