Alex O'Donnell is in his first year as a graduate assistant for the Salem University baseball program.
O'Donnell began his collegiate career at Division I Canisius College before transferring to Division II Mercyhurst University, where he was a First Team All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference shortstop. He was part of back-to-back Division II Atlantic Regional champions and National Finals participants at Mercyhurst. The Lakers finished in the top four in the nation in his senior year.
O'Donnell's coaching experience includes serving as head coach of the Northern Michigan Dune Bears in the Northwoods League. He also served as infield coach at Mercyhurst Northeast Junior College.
O'Donnell earned his bachelor's degree in early childhood/special education. He is working on his master's of education (teacher leadership) at Salem.
His career goal is to get a full-time coaching position at the collegiate level.
