Sam Agnew-Wieland

Sam Agnew-Wieland is in his first season as the graduate assistant pitching coach at Salem University.

Prior to coaching at Salem, he served as head coach to 15 and 16-year-old travel teams at Stealth Baseball based in Charlotte, North Carolina from 2016-2017.

As a player, Sam reached as high as class A ball with the New York Yankee’s short season affiliate Staten Island Yankees from 2013 to 2014. He also spent time pitching professionally with independent teams Joplin Blasters and Washington Wild Things.

Before playing professionally, Sam was a standout student-athlete at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina and Middle Georgia College in Cochran, Georgia.

In 2016, Sam received his Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy from Appalachian State and in 2012 earned his Associate’s Degree from Middle Georgia.
