Calvin Negus

Coach Negus joined the Salem's men's soccer staff as a graduate assistant in September of 2018. Calvin will assist in planning and administration of training sessions as well as helping in the recruitment of student-athletes. Calvin will be working very closely with the development and varsity program for the men’s soccer program.

As for his American college experience, Calvin started off his career at Cayuga C.C (N.Y.) in 2014 for Head Coaches Darren Wynee and Petrut Bumbanac. In his two years there he was a member of MSAC Conference Championship team, Member of NJCAA Region III Championship team and NJCAA National Finals finishing fourth overall in the nation, and the highest National Ranking in the college’s history.

He transferred to Salem University in 2016 and was a member of the Puerto Rico relief efforts that helped raise money to travel and help the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico which was shattered by hurricane Maria in 2017. Him and his team got recognition by The Salvation Army for their relief effort. Negus graduated Salem earning his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with emphasis in sports management in 2018.

Coach Negus is a native of Chichester, England where he earned his BTEC Level 3 in Sports Science in 2014. He has a licensed FA level 1 License through the English FA, since then he has worked for UKIS (United Kingdom International Soccer) and AYSO (American Youth Soccer Organization) summer camp.
