Leo Tillemont

Tillemont joined the Salem men's soccer staff as an assistant coach in July of 2017. Leo will assist in planning and administration of training sessions as well as helping in the recruitment of student-athletes. Leo also will work closely with the goalkeepers due to his previous professional experiences.

As for his college experience, Leo served as a starter and Salem team captain during the 2007 season making to the WVIAC playoffs and becoming a WVIAC all-star selection with an honorable mention. In 2008, Leo broke a 30-year National NCAA DII record for best average of saves per game (13.4), gaining local and national recognition.

After graduating from Salem in 2011, Leo landed his first professional contract with the Division I PRSL Leones FC (Puerto Rico/US). Leo helped FC Leones win the Puerto Rico Soccer League championship in 2011 blocking 2 penalty kicks at the final game. Leo was named the Playoff MVP after the Lions run to a title to finish up his rookie pro outdoor season.

In 2012, the Rochester Lancers from New York announced Leo as its new addition to its 2012-13 MISL (professional indoor) season. After 2 ACL reconstruction surgeries on his left knee, Leo started coaching soccer in Brazil at his hometown.

Leo earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration with emphasis in sport management in 2011 and also holds a MBA in Business Administration from FGV – Fundacao Getulio Vargas in Brazil, class of 2016.
Leo is a native of Salvador, Brazil.
