Todd Tucker

As the new Tennis Head Coach, Todd Tucker brings a wealth of experience to Salem University on everything from working wth professional athletes, coaching collegiate players, and running programs. 

In his playing years, Tucker was a United States Tennis Association nationally-ranked junior tennis player from 1980-1987, winning the National Junior College Championship for the 1987-1988 season with North Greenville College. 

He joined his brother, Ty Tucker, on the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) tour as a traveling coach, working with several world-ranked players, including: Seth Hoffman, Jess Jones, Matt Mendez, Kennedy Schaffer and Nate Perrone.

From 2000-2011, tucker was the Director of Tennis at the Lakewood Racquet Club in Lexington, Ohio, giving group and private lessons, maintaining the court schedules, managing the tennis programs, and helping to develop more than 45 players who would go on to earn college scholarships. 

As the Director of Player Development for the Ivan Lendl Tennis Academy in Hilton Head, South Carolina, Tucker coached ATP players, coordinated ATP professional exhibitions and developed nationally ranked, blue chip junior players. 

In 2013, Tucker joined Wright State University as the Assistant Men’s and Women’s Tennis coach, and served as the Interim Head Coach for the 2014-2015 season, arranging and planning travel and recruiting activities, team operations, fundraising and the day-to-day management of two Division I college tennis programs. 

He shared similar duties as the Assistant Men’s Tennis Coach at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio for the 2015-2016 season. Coach Tucker has a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Ohio Christian University.
