Jarin Hilson joined the Salem University men’s basketball program as an assistant coach, bringing championship experience and a proven background in player development and scouting to the Tigers’ sideline.
Before coming to Salem, Hilson spent two seasons at Langston University, helping guide the Lions to a combined 61–10 record. In 2024–25, Langston finished 35–2, capturing both the Sooner Athletic Conference regular season and tournament championships while advancing to the NAIA National Championship game — the best finish in program history. During his tenure, Hilson coached multiple all-conference and NAIA All-American players, including standout guards Anthony Roy and Turu Dean.
Hilson’s coaching experience includes skill development for guards and post players, overseeing academics for student-athletes, coordinating team travel, and handling opponent scouting through Synergy and FastScout. He also served as head coach of the JV program and played a key role in practice planning and in-game analytics.
As a player, Hilson enjoyed a standout collegiate career, posting a 105–29 record across stops at Northwest Florida State, Shelton State, Wheeling Jesuit, and Talladega College. He was part of the 2015 NJCAA National Championship team at Northwest Florida and earned NAIA All-America honors during his time at Talladega.
Hilson holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, an Associate’s degree in General Studies, and a Master’s degree in Entrepreneurship.
