Ashley Thompson came to Salem in 2023 as an Athletic Trainer, since then she has added various responsibilities to her role including Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Advisor (SAAC) and Student Life/Career Access Coordinator. Â
Since arriving at Salem in 2023, Thompson has played an active role in student engagement, student-athlete support, and campus programming. In her current role, she oversees student life initiatives, career development programming, and campus events while assisting students with career preparation, networking opportunities, and leadership development. During her time in athletics, Thompson coordinated SAAC initiatives, organized fundraising and community service projects, and assisted with athletic event operations and student-athlete wellness.
Prior to Salem, Thompson served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer and SAAC Co-Advisor at Glenville State University, where she worked with multiple athletic programs and championship-level student-athletes. She also gained experience at Indiana University of Pennsylvania as Director of Softball Operations and as a graduate assistant facility manager.
A former NCAA Division II softball student-athlete at Mercyhurst University, Thompson earned her bachelor’s degree in athletic training before completing a master’s degree in sports management at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
