Jeff Passwater has served as Head Women’s Water Polo Coach at Salem University since 2022. During his time with the Tigers, Passwater has focused on building a competitive program culture while emphasizing athlete development, team cohesion, and performance growth. He led the Tigers for the breakout 2025 spring campaign in which the Tigers finished with as the top seed in the WWPA East, and Passwater earned WWPA Coach of the Year that season for his efforts.
Passwater came to Salem following a wide range of collegiate and international coaching experiences. Prior to his arrival, he served as an assistant coach at Connecticut College, where he was involved in practice planning, recruiting, travel coordination, and fundraising efforts. He also spent two seasons at Austin College, assisting with player development, recruiting, and team operations.
In 2019, Passwater gained international coaching experience working with the Trinidad and Tobago Junior National Teams, helping prepare the squad for the Junior Pan American Games while coordinating resources to support athlete performance. Earlier in his career, he held roles at McKendree University, the University of the Pacific, and Brown University, contributing to both men’s and women’s programs in areas including scouting, operations, and practice development.
Passwater also brings club-level leadership experience, having served as a head coach and director with YCF Water Polo in Florida, where he oversaw daily operations, training, and competition for multiple age groups.
