Bridgeport, W.Va - Salem International University rang in Homecoming 2014 with a 2-0 shutout victory over Chowan University (N.C) in non-conference action on Friday at the Bridgeport City Park.

With the win, Salem improves to 6-3 (2-1 G-MAC).

The Tigers received goals from Tomas Szabo in the 9th minute and Javier Ruiz Paz Jsvier Ruiz Paz capped off the win with a goal in the 81st.

SIU goalkeeper Elloitt Cook had four saves as the Tigers outshot Chowan by a 12-8 margin.

Salem returns to Great Midwest Athletic Conference action on October 9th when they take on Kentucky Wesleyan at the Bridgeport City Park. Game time is set for 3:30 PM.
